Freshman Albert Hill practices how to control a kite on land. Hill is taking lessons through the Kite Boarding club, which meets at Key Biscayne on Sunday mornings. In order to get on the water, the new members must go through training to learn how to control the kite. Brothers Kristoffer and Kristian Sarmiento volunteer their time to help teach. “Everyone should try it,” says Hill. The club is in its first year, so the members do not compete yet, but rather are just trying to learn the sport, however, vice president Thomas Fields kite boards professionally.
