The Atlantic Coast Conference recognized six Hurricanes Monday morning.

On a hot and humid spring day, the Hurricanes wrapped up their season with a decisive victory against Notre Dame, winning 16-7 on Saturday afternoon at Mark Light Field.

After a quiet Tuesday night, the Hurricanes responded in a loud way, beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 6-4 Thursday at Mark Light Field, while retaining the top spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Coastal Division.

No. 14 Notre Dame (32-11, 15-9 Atlantic Coast Conference) comes to Miami leading the Atlantic Division by one game. Taking two of three games in its last ACC series against Pittsburgh, the Irish won on the road on Tuesday, taking down Northwestern 14-4 in seven innings.

“We just didn’t do anything to help ourselves win,” Miami head coach Gino DiMare said. “Overall, just a disappointing night.”

In the midst of a four-game losing streak, their worst of the year, the Miami Hurricanes came to life on Sunday at Mac Nease Baseball Park, taking down the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13-2.

Suddenly, the No. 3 Hurricanes find themselves with serious work to do to keep their top-five ranking after this weekend.

“Just disappointing. We really didn’t do much today, was kind of a flat game,” Miami head coach Gino DiMare said.

With two months of the season down and only one to go, the Miami Hurricanes enter yet another big conference series at Mark Light Field as the team matches up against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

With the annual spring football game approaching on Saturday, Miami has lost second-year running back Cody Brown to the transfer portal.
