“What I look forward to the most about carnival is it feels almost like a huge family reunion,” Pitter said. “It’s one of the only times of the year that all my friends and all of my family are in the same place. I also meet so many people who feel like an extended family. It’s truly a completely carefree day—nothing compares.”
The night included performances by the University of Miami’s KAOS dance team and the Melodic Vibrations Band. The president of UBS, Glen Howard Jr., emceed the event. Howard, a senior majoring in broadcast journalism from Miami, says he agreed to partner with this event to build a deeper connection to all students of all identities and races on campus.
The networking mixer provided an opportunity for students to network, build connections and fellowship with faculty and staff at UM.
