UM celebrates Food Day with events promoting healthy, sustainable eating

Annually on Oct. 16, Food Day is celebrated across 150 countries to promote worldwide awareness for those who suffer from hunger and to promote the necessity of eating healthy while being environmentally sustainable.

Monthly book club led by Lowe Art Museum educator to discuss health and well-being begins Tuesday, Sept. 24.

“I think this book club will help the community by bringing up topics that usually discussed in a typical book club, such as “what is really important in your life,” or “stop and think what gives meaning in your life," clinical psychologist Cristina Pozo-Kaderman said.

Student Health Service now offering flu shots around campus

Student Health Service has already received 53 positive rapid flu tests so far this year, 36 influenza A and 17 influenza B, among University of Miami students.
