For the third straight week, the Hurricanes managed to execute a fourth quarter touchdown drive and grind out a win, this time over Virginia Tech.

Miami (6-1, 5-1 ACC), is a two-point underdog for the game that is slated to kickoff at 12 p.m. on ESPN.

With less than two weeks until the start of the season, the Hurricanes will open with four non-conference home games before beginning ACC play on Dec. 10 against Syracuse at the Watsco Center.

"I was just super confident,” King said. “I had no doubt that we were going to win that game. I wanted a chance at the end to go down there and score.”

Just two weeks away from the start of the 2020-21 NCAA basketball season, the University of Miami and the Atlantic Coast Conference today announced the full 2020-21 Miami men's basketball schedule.

Down 41-37 with just under four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, King orchestrated an 84-yard drive that resulted in a 54-yard touchdown pass to Mike Harley.

“Everybody has to stay positive,” said King. "We’re 5-1, only loss was to the No. 1 team in the country, we played horrible that game, but right now, we’re 5-1. I think we’re in a good spot."

Men’s basketball coach Jim Larrañaga is going on his 10th year as head coach at Miami, while women’s coach Katie Meier is entering her 16th season as head coach at UM, and neither of the two have faced anything close to the unprecedented challenges this offseason brought.

Per the UM athletic department, Waardenburg, a key rotation player for the Hurricanes, is expected to be sidelined for approximately six months.
