University to co-host second presidential forum on Dec. 9

Republican presidential candidates will address the Hispanic community during a Univision-sponsored televised debate on Dec. 9 at the BankUnited Center. The GOP debate was originally scheduled for Sept. 16, but was canceled when only one Republican candidate, John McCain, agreed to attend.

Univision, which is the most-watched Spanish-language broadcast television network in the country, hosted the first-ever presidential candidate debate conducted in Spanish on Sept. 9. Seven of the eight Democratic candidates participated, and Nielson’s national ratings reported that the debate drew nearly double the average audience than all the previous presidential debates this year.
