Canes Head Coach Tricia Taliaferro has lead Miami to a historic start with a 3-1 win against UNC Greensboro last Sunday. Miami is now 4-0, the second best in school history. The last time the women’s soccer team started this well was in 2001 when the Hurricanes started 5-0 and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the only time in school history.

Soccerfla.com Player of the Week Paulelette Ricks-Chambers lead Miami to victory with the first two goals of the game against UNC Greensboro. Ricks-Chambers first goal came in the 24th minute scoring of a rebound. She followed up that goal with a score in the 49th minute from the top of the 18ft. box.

Once again, Miami goalie Lauren McAdam provided another strong effort in goal. McAdam made seven saves and allowed only one goal in the game and that was in the 82nd minute when the game was out of reach. To date, McAdam has only given up two goals in the first four games.

The ‘Canes will look to tie the school record with their fifth consecutive win against Florida International University on Sept. 6.
