With the opening of Superman Returns scheduled for June 30, starving actor Brandon Routh has moved into stardom as the new superman in a matter of months. Routh came on board when he auditioned for previous director McG, who has since left the film. Look for Routh to become a common face.
Blog up for Literary Award
An anonymous Iraqi woman is up for a major literary award for her blog on the account of the affects of the war on the Iraqi people. The author, who uses the pen name “Riverbend,” was among the finalists for the Samuel Johnson prize for non-fiction. The prize, which is worth $52,000, is open to anyone whose books are published in English. After the rights of the blog had been bought by a publishing house, the blog is considered a type of pseudo-book.
