Communication Week begins today, with a variety of events being held through March 31.

The African Students Union and Haitian Student Association sponsor Afrocentria, which begins at 6 p.m. on The Rock. Culture will be showcased through cuisine and various forms of art in addition to spoken word artists, dancers, poets, singers and musicians from the UM student body and the Miami community.

Applications for the open Hecht Residential College Senate seat are available in the SG office (UC 214) and online. They are due March 24 at 5 p.m. the SG office, where applicants must also sign up for an interview.

SATURDAY

Are you graduating soon and need to step up your job search? The Job Search Boot Camp at the Toppel Career Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will give you the tools to launch a successful job search, secure the position you want, and start a successful career.

Come out as Canes Night Live presents free food, activities and a showing of the movie Zoolander from 7 to 11 p.m. on the UC Patio.

Daughter of Keltoum, an Algerian film about the journey of a young woman, will be shown at 4:00 p.m. at the Cosford Cinema.

Electric Shadows, a Chinese film, will be shown at 6 p.m. at the Cosford Cinema

Minority Women in Medicine will kick of Women’s Health Awareness Week from noon to 2 p.m. on the UC Patio.
