Stock Market Music
Oscillation Productions LLC is selling a CD titled Playing the Market which consists of compositions based on stock market and economic data. The music on Playing the Market is structured based on source data such as stock returns, trading volume, interest rates, inflation, unemployment, government debt, consumer confidence, and related financial algorithms. The resulting sound is something that definitely falls within the category of music; it’s not quite what you’d hear from a Beethoven composition, and not quite something from a Kevin Federline album-but perhaps something in between.
Musical pieces such as “Fibonacci’s Random Walk, Part I” are soothing piano compositions, while “Industrial Century” sounds like background music from a thriller movie, proving that the CD, just like the Wall Street Stock quotes themselves, is always keeping its customers on their toes.
