TODAY

A lecture on “Can neuroscience tell us whether music makes us smarter?” will be given by Donald Hodges at Broby Hall at 9 a.m.

CaneStock kick-off at 6 p.m. at the Rat with spoken word duo Steve and Sekou. Stick around after their performance to see UM bands perform.

The opening reception for an exhibit of Joyce Tenneson’s photography will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. The gallery will be on display from March 3 through April 7 at the College of Arts and Sciences gallery at the Wesley Foundation building.

SATURDAY

CaneStock continues with Popeye’s chicken and Recycled Percussion, a group that combines rock with rhythmic grooves of hip-hop inspired vocal and body percussion, at 7 p.m. at the UC Patio.

SUNDAY

Finish off CaneStock weekend with a “Night at the Oscars.” Festivities will be held in the master’s apartments of all residential colleges at 8 p.m. and include trivia and prizes.

Frost Opera Theater presents “Elixir of Love” directed by Katherine Kozak from 3 to 5 p.m. at Gusman Hall. Tickets for students are $10 and general admission is $20.
