New bill to lower legal age

On Thursday, the Florida State Senate Judiciary Committee concludes a series of hearings held across the state on a bill by the committee’s chairman, Sen. Scarborough (D-Jacksonville) to lower the age of legal adult majority in Florida to the age of 18 years.

Just the other day my friend turned 21. I always thought the drinking age being 21 was absolutely ridiculous but seeing him make the transition changed my mind.

It’s hard to predict who you’ll meet in college, but there is one thing you can predict: 40 to 80 percent of them will be binge drinkers, said Toben F. Nelson of the Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study of college students, a project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
