Police enforce new speed limit

Despite the University of Miami Police Department’s (UMPD) efforts to enforce the Coral Gables campus’ lowered speed limit, some student drivers continue to speed. UMPD implemented the new 15-mph speed limit for all on-campus roads as part of a pedestrian safety initiative called ‘Canes Crossroad. The speed limit was reduced from last year’s 30-mph limit….

Miami to duke it out in Durham

The University of Miami women’s basketball team will be hitting the road Thursday night to legendary Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. The Hurricanes will take the buzz they created on campus to face No. 3 Duke.

On Wednesday, the university will be conducting a test activation of the Emergency Notification Network (ENN) between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Outdoor sirens will be utilized as part of the drill.

Reducing the risks of spring break

The week will include an 8 p.m. tailgate for the University of North Carolina basketball game on Tuesday, as well as a Friday pool party to raise awareness on how to make decisions over spring break that minimize risk.
