Although decidedly less candid and more eloquent than his predecessor, the clock may well have been turned back eight years to when Bush addressed the West Point graduates where he defiantly praised American superiority and the necessity for total American involvement in the “war on terror.”

Although 2009 was the year with the most Peace Prize nominations in history, no person other than Obama deserved it more. Certainly not Hu Jia, a Chinese human rights activist who has been jailed by the Chinese government for her “subversive” activities, or Morgan Tsvangirai who despite repeated attempts on his life managed to get the ruthless dictator of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, to share power.

UM has its own team barber, 23 year old Steven Rivera. While some players like redshirt freshman safety Vaughn Telemaque and sophomore wide reciever Travis Benjamin refuse to cut their luscious locks, over half the football team goes to Rivera.

On Thursday night in front of a crowd of about 20 people, the UM Debate team hosted three Irish debaters in a dynamic debate about Obama’s first three months in office.
