Amidst the peacock calls and lakes filled with lily pads, they finished third for the second straight year in their annual Hurricane Invitational, which ended on Tuesday afternoon. After a rocky fall season, they are gaining confidence and making a statement.


Despite an energetic opening, the Hurricanes fell 33-20 to the Seminoles Saturday night in their homecoming game. The Canes (4-4, 3-2) got off to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but failed to keep up with the slew of talented players on the No.11 ranked Florida State Seminoles (7-1, 4-1).
