Butler Center helps students give back to community

Through the orientation process as a freshman, Brittany Tedeschi learned of an office on campus called the Butler Center for Service and Leadership (SLC) that could get her involved at the unversity.

Recently, 15 University of Miami students as well as President Donna E. Shalala attended the Clinton Global Initiative University meeting, which took place last month on the University of Texas-Austin campus.

Law School helps Grove-area churchgoers

In a declining economy, a program known as the Historic Black Church Project is helping people gain tools for success in the impoverished area of West Coconut Grove. The University of Miami Law School’s Center for Ethics & Public Service program CEDAD (Community Economic Development and Design Clinic) is aligning themselves with churches in the West Coconut Grove area to provide education and assistance for people in need.
