Miami may face FSU without Morris under center

Miami looks to recover from their recent two-game slide as they welcome the No.14 ranked Florida State Seminoles to Sun Life Stadium on Saturday night. The Hurricanes (4-3, 3-1 ACC) enter the game following back-to-back losses to Notre Dame and UNC, while the Seminoles (6-1, 3-1) are coming off a 51-7 shellacking over Boston College.

Miami loses first ACC game as Homecoming showdown looms

Junior quarterback Stephen Morris was carried off the field in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury and Ryan Williams comeback attempt was not enough as the Hurricanes fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels 18-14 at Sun Life Stadium. The loss is the first conference defeat for Miami (4-3, 3-1), who is now in a four-way tie for first place in the ACC Coastal Division.

Canes start three-game homestand against Tar Heels

The Hurricanes are back in Coral Gables as they prepare for the first of a three-game home stand this weekend where they will welcome the North Carolina Tar Heels to Sun Life Stadium. The Canes (4-2, 3-0) are looking to keep their undefeated streak in the conference intact while the Tar Heels (4-2, 1-1) are riding a three game win streak, including a 48-34 win over ACC rival Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Canes crushed in Chicago

The Hurricanes offense was stymied and the Notre Dame rushing attack combined to rush for 376 yards as the Fighting Irish defeated the Canes 41-3 at Solider Field in Chicago. Miami (4-2, 3-0) lost for the second time against a ranked non-conference opponent this season whereas Notre Dame (5-0) has now gone three games without giving up a touchdown to an opponent.

Shawn Eichorst resigns as athletic director

The University of Miami has confirmed an Associated Press Report that Shawn Eichorst stepped down from his position as UM’s athletic director on Thursday morning. The news comes just 18 months after Eichorst took over at Miami in April 2011. He replaced Kirby Hocutt, who abruptly left the university for the same position at Texas Tech.

Senior running back Mike James accounted for four touchdowns and Eddie Johnson came up with a huge tackle on fourth down in overtime to help Miami rally back from a 17-point deficit midway through the third quarter to stun the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets with a 42-36 overtime victory at Bobby Dood Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Duke Johnson erupts for four touchdowns in Canes’ 38-10 win

Freshman running back Randy “Duke” Johnson racked up 246 all-purpose yards and accounted for four touchdowns as the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Bethune Cookman Wildcats 38-10 in front of 39,435 fans at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The four scores is the most for any Hurricane in a single game since Tyrone Moss did it in 2005.
