An Associated Collegiate Press Hall of Fame Newspaper

The Miami Hurricane is the student newspaper of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. The newspaper is edited and produced by undergraduate students at UM and is published semi-weekly on Mondays and Thursdays during the regular academic year.

This publication does not necessarily represent the views and opinions of advertisers or the university’s trustees, faculty or administration. Unsigned editorials represent the opinion of The Hurricane‘s Editorial Board. Columns, letters and cartoons represent the views of their respective authors only.

Webmaster’s Note: TheMiamiHurricane.com was completely redesigned for the fall 2010 semester.  Most of the content from the old publishing system (in use from 2001-2008) was moved to the new system.  However, the following items were not moved:

  • Images from articles
  • Author information (some newer articles may contain tag lines at the bottom)
  • Article comments
  • All comics
  • All “Speak Up!” articles
  • Podcasts
  • The summer 2008 First Impression issue
  • Approximately 40 additional articles throughout that timeframe

Any incorrect information will be corrected on Page 2. Errors committed on the Editorial or Opinion pages have corrections printed on that page. Corrections also are noted in the online versions of our stories.
