Miami Ice Hockey Team Honored

The Miami ice hockey team was honored in February by the Florida Panthers at “UM Night” at the BankAtlantic Center to commemorate the team’s 2011 Division III National Championship. “We have been striving to spread the word about our team and being presented at the game really helped us, and all the support we can get from the community really helps our program grow,” Vice President Adam Katz said. The team previously practiced at a roller hockey rink but traveled to ice hockey tournaments. Recently, the team switched the venue for practices to Kendall Ice Arena and now exclusively plays ice hockey. Marlena Skrobe // Staff Photographer
