Photo Brief: UM Basketball Beats Barry

Marlena Skrobe//The Miami Hurricane

Freshman power forward Raphael Akpejiori goes for a dunk during Wednesday night’s blowout victory over Barry. The Canes beat the Bucs 102-33. Akpejiori finished with six points and five rebounds and was one of many freshmen to have a great game. Freshman guard Rion Brown made four three pointers. He and fellow Georgia native DeQuan Jones each had a game high 16 points. Redshirt freshman Donnavan Kirk and redshirt sophomore Reggie Johnson were a combined 9-for-9 from the floor totaling 24 points and 16 rebounds. Redshirt junior guard Malcolm Grant lived up to his offseason hype as he tallied 15 points, all coming via the three pointer.
