Number 8 Anthony Kanelidis,  president of the UM water polo club team, defends against Florida International University at the regional tournament on October 23-24. FIU was ranked 3rd in the nation when Miami won the game 8-4. After winning the regional tournament, UM is now, for the first time, the number 1 team in Florida. UM is ranked 12th in the nation and will be going to nationals in Cedar City, Utah on November12-14, which they have never done before. “I am very happy with our accomplishments thus far and cannot wait to go to Nationals.  We are training harder than ever to represent the U,” said Anthony Kanelidis. According to Kanelidis, the MVPs of the tournament were offensive extraordinaire Juan, who scored 12 goals in the tournament, and defensive extraordinaire Alan Groll the goalie, who blocked 75% of shots on goal.
