TODAY
‘Canes Night Live and the Homecoming Executive Committee present Wide World of Sports at 7 p.m. on the Green, the Rock and the UC Breezeway. There will be interactive games, free food, karaoke and music. Event starts with Homecoming Opening Ceremonies.

The University of Miami Film Society brings local filmmaker Clifton Childree to UM at 5 p.m. in room 130 of the Learning Center.

Entries for the pre-season soccer tournament on Oct. 30 are due by 5 p.m. at the Wellness Center. For more information email jcarroll@miami.edu.

Join the School of Education for the fifth annual Pet Walk-a-Thon and Costume Contest benefiting the United Way. Participants will meet at the Merrick Fountain for sign-in beginning at 3 p.m. and the walk will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Rebecca Shaw at 305-284-2096.

SATURDAY
Participate in Homecoming and give back to the community through Hurricanes Help the Hometown at 8 a.m. at the UC Patio.

Cancer Link’s Breast Cancer Education Day will be held at the Convocation Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn about breast cancer early detection, treatment, psycho-social issues and nutrition in younger women.

SUNDAY
Ibis Ride will be providing transportation to the Grove from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. from Stanford Circle and Dickinson Drive.

MONDAY
A blood drive that runs through Nov. 3 will be at the UC Ballrooms between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3
Different organizations square off in the Homecoming 2004 Organized Cheer in the UC Patio at 7 p.m.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4
Quantum Entertainment, Hurricane Productions and the Rathskeller Advisory Board are cosponsoring a Speed Dating event at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available in the UC Breezeway. Space is limited.

In honor of Homecoming 2004, the Alma Mater and Spirit Tree Ceremony will be held at the Rock at 11:30 a.m.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5
Homecoming 2004 Hurricane Howl will be at the UC at 7 p.m. It will feature a parade, pep rally, fireworks and free food. Wyclef Jean and the Refugee All-Stars close the night with a free concert at 9:45 p.m. on the Green.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6
For UM’s Alumni Weekend, Hurricane Productions and Office Max present comedian Mike Epps with LaVell Crawford at 8 p.m. in the UM Convocation Center. Epps is known for his many movie roles such as in Dr. Dolittle 2, The Fighting Temptations and Resident Evil. For more information visit www.umconvocationcenter.com.

It’s the 78th annual Homecoming game as UM takes on Clemson at the Orange Bowl.
