The University of Miami men’s cross country team is ranked 12th in the South Region in the latest poll released by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes have recorded two victories in the season’s first three meets, and return to action on October 11 at the Disney Invitational in Orlando, FL.
Miami has been led this season by sophomore Alex Brutvan who has been the Hurricanes’ top finisher in all three events. Brutvan was the top collegiate finisher, fourth overall, at the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Invitational on August 30, and won the FIU Invitational on September 13. The Hurricanes swept the top-7 spots to win both events.

Soccer

Yach played a role in all three of Miami’s goals in the 3-1 win over UConn. She tallied two goals, including the match-winner, and recorded an assist to lead the Hurricanes to their first win over a top 10 opponent.
Yach leads the Hurricanes with six goals on the season, including two match-winning goals. She also has two assists for a total of 14 points.
She was named to the All-Big East Rookie team after finishing her freshman season with a second-best 23 points.
The Hurricanes take a break from division play as they face Pittsburgh Friday at 7 p.m.
